Bland alla andra saker du kan ge bort i julklapp kommer här ytterligare ett julklappstips: En gåva till IVSS-Churchear! Denna internationella organisation, där jag är ordförande, är en liten organisation som därmed har liten och billig administration men även begränsade tillgångar. Den i stort sett enda inkomstkällan idag är medlemsavgifterna. Med mer ekonomiska resurser skulle IVSS-Churchear kunna uträtta mer – för hörselskadade i våra kyrkor i alla länder, inte minst i de fattigare länderna i Europa och övriga världen.

Alla gåvor är välkomna och går direkt till vår fond till behövande. Uppgifter för överföring av pengar finns längst ner. Man kan även ta upp kollekt till detta ändamål. En bieffekt av det är att IVSS-Churchear blir känd av några fler. Även det är viktigt. Mer info finns på www.churchear.org.

Dear faithful in Christ

Only one sheep! When Jesus tells his parable he reminds us never to say so. Every sheep is important! Of course you will agree. But the problem is that not every sheep is so easily seen; not every sheep raises its voice so that it can be heard. Some of them are therefore easily forgotten. The lost sheep may have left the herd due to circumstances within the herd. It is important for all of us to take this into consideration. 

Hard of Hearing people need extra help to feel included in the herd. If you don't hear properly what is going on, you may not want to stay! What then can we do to help people with hearing disabilities to be active participants in our parish life? Ask them! It is all a question about how you speak, about the acoustics in the room; it is about hearing equipment, hearing loop systems more than anything else. 

IVSS-Churchear is an international ecumenical federation for pastoral care among Hard of Hearing, working to make knowledge and consciousness spread among Churches and Church organisations around the world. Every two years there is an international Conference where people from many countries and churches meet to inspire each other and to share experiences. The theme for the last Conference, in Krakow, Poland, this year was Only one sheep?. 

IVSS-Churchear is a very small organisation without an office or employees. The income, mostly from membership fees, is spent for the preparation of the next Conference, costs for board meetings etc. With some extra income we could afford to help participants from churches with less money to attend the conferences, or to give help to hearing projects in less wealthy countries on various continents.
